My notebook A100 Toshiba CD Drive is not working on either CD or DVD reading. Every time I put a CD into the drive, it shows some light at the drive front then off.
Interestingly, when I check Device Manager, the item CD/DVD Rom Drive shows VX3210Q XSQ895U SCSI CD ROM Device instead of Matshita DVD RAM UJ-850S ATA Device.
Also it says this device is working properly. But when I boot the laptop it said that there is media problem and suggested to check the cable.
Would you please help me fix this problem or any advices that would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like it need to be replaced.
Did any dirt get in the drive?
