I'm doing a new build using a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3p mobo. I'll be doing this in the same room as my old computer, which has Comcast high-speed Internet but also has a wireless router attached. I'm leaving the old one connected, in case I need to come here and ask a question about the build.

Anyway, I'm debating the best method to hook up the new PC to the network so that I can download updates and so forth. Couldn't I just run a LAN cable from the new PC to the router? Alternative is to install a wireless card.

Eventually, old PC will be disconnected, and new PC will be connected to router/cable modem.
