Newegg just got these in:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ Brisbane 2.8GHz Black Edition
Model# = ADO5400DSWOF

I'm trying to find out what stepping it is but have come up blank, emailed newegg but they couldn't help either, said they couldn't check the chip.
If anyone could help, that would be great.

Thanks,
mrZoSo

I believe the 65w AMD X2 5400+ is a G2.

Because of the AM2 memory dividers 2.8GHz is a sweet spot (2800MHz divided by 7 = 400MHz x 2 = 800MHz). Increasing the cpu multiplier will lower your effective memory speed with the 7 divisor

This cpu has an '8' ram divider ....

If you drop the HT to 4x and increase the cpu freq to 220MHz (maybe 1.37v?) your overall clock speed will be 3.2GHz and ...

3200MHz divided by 8 = 400MHz x 2 = 800MHz DDR2

Thanks for the info, it will come in handy. But I have seen some of the 65w Brisbane's haveing the G1 stepping listed on AMD's site, which I don't want of course.
