I;ve been researching for my next gaming system build. I was thinking of waiting till Nehalem but I think I will stick with Penryn and wait for Nehalem to mature. Also, it looks like Nehalem might not be a gaming systems best buddy. Im torn between the E8600 or Q9550 (I have FSX). I was also going to either get the 4870 or 4870x2 or NVidia 280. When I was wondering about Nehalem someone brought up Gigabyte's mobo's have Dynamic Overclocking (some models). Is this a good feature for someone who hasnt overclocked and afraid to do it yet part of me wants to try it. Is there a specific mobo that has Dynamic Overclocking (if its worth it) or a great mobo in general. Any reccomendations? Thank you in advance!

Ok, thanx. So avoid any mobo that has that feature? Or any mobo that has it, it's automatically shut of....so don't touch it. What would be a good mobo for an E8600 or Q9550? Gigabyte or not. But I presently have a Gigabyte mobo and never had any problems so Im happy with Gigabyte.

i would say avoid it if your a swerious overclocker and wanna watch your volts and shi7...but if your a overclocking noob and wanna try like .1 or .2 increments for ...say 50 more benchmark marks or 5 more fps sure, its fun to play with but dont go nuts with it.
dont AVOID gigabyte mobos because of this feature but just dont push it to high.

I thought they had specific mobos that had the feature. Ive never ocverclocked. Part of me doesnt want to do it because Id probably screw it up and kill my system. The other part of me is like, hmmmmmm. More power, more fps;s. I dont know, Im thinking when I build my new system, I will use my old system and try overclocking. For now I have a big enough headache to decide; E8600 or Q9550; 4870 or 4870x2 or 9800gx2, or 280.
