i dont want to get a quad extreme just yet due to price so ive gone with the E8500 which seems to be a good chip but i need help to choose what is the best motherboard, memory and gpu?

cuz people have said that ati r realeasin a new gpu soon and that 1066mhtz is **** any feed back muchly appreciated

yes, both ati and nvidia are releasing new chips soon, wait to buy a gpu until they come out, as for memory unless you heavily overclock then ddr2 800 is fine, you can over clock the e8400 to e8500 on a stock cooler and save a little money as for motherboard msi p45 looks like a good board and isn't much more expensive than p35 counterparts

The E8500 isn't worth the extra cost... do yourself a favor and go with the E8400. You can overclock that cpu to 3.6 just by moving up the FSB (8x400) , that way you won't have to up the voltage sans no heat issues. And like gator said, the MSI P45 board and DDR2 800 memory ftw.

ASUS P5E X38 is worth considering.
It has a separate (not onboard) supreme FX II 7.1 channel HD-Audiio card bundled.
