Format bad partition

windows xp will not 'see' a bad external partition. I wish to just re-format same.

Take the disk out of the enclosure, hook it up to a computer and partition and format it. Buy a new enclosure. Newegg and other stores sell them.

Boot the computer [with the "bad" hard drive connected to it ] from a Linux Live CD like Parted Magic. It is free and you can download it from http://partedmagic.com/

See if you can format the external hard disk this way....If you can problem solved if not follow Evongugg's post....
