So I was given a QX9775 quad core and have been searching for a motherboard for it. This is a socket 771 CPU so its uses the same board as a xeon. The issue I am having is finding a good board that supports SLI and DDR3. The only board I have found so far is the skulltrail but it only supports FB-ddr2. Any help or advice would be greatly apreciated!!! :)

Tough one... Skulltrail is the only option you have with that processor. Sell it, buy a skt775 version. Then you are limited with one choice again, the 790i chipset.

can you run a single CPU in the skulltrail? Its socketed for dual and every one I see running it has two QX9775 in it.
