The guide above is pretty outdated and I have some questions about overclocking my video card. My card came with EVGA Precision, is this a good program to use?

What programs would you guys recommend?

What programs do I use to test to see if the video card is stable and without artifacts?

Any recommended settings?

Rivatuner is decent, but EVGA has some awesome stuff that sometimes lets you tweak voltages. As for Artifacts, idk. I remember having something to that effect a long time ago but have since forgotten the name. Also overclock that CPU, you should be able to hit 3.8GHz if you set a 400mhz bus speed and your RAM at a 1:1 ration fairly easily.

I think most people use ATI Tools to check for artifacts. It has a button in it that is just for that purpose. This can also be used to check the max temperatures of your GPU's. It works with Nvidea cards also. Just do a search for it.

Yeah evga has a good oc software, i guess it's better then just installing ntune and hitting the "find optimal" button when settings your frequencies :)

Also i would oc the cpu too you have a nice cooler on it you should find it not too hard to hit 400fsb to give you a nice 1:1 raito for a good stable system.
