Hello,
does video card have anything to do with pc performance, speed, buffering, etc.? Was getting crazzy colors at start up and then freezing up at desk top, did a system recovery and same thing. Took out video card (nvidia geforce 9800gt).......now able to boot up no problem but now it runs slow and has buffering issues when streaming videos. Would a new video card fix this? thanx

Video card has to do with performance more where visual effects come in. Like watching videos and gaming. Browsing the web and word processing won't be affected by it.

Your card seems like a good one, so I don't think it's the card that's causing the problems. Maybe it's the video card settings. Go into the nvidia control panel and set the resolution to the max. and the colour to 32-bit.
