I would recommend actually going and looking at the case in a shop, you can judge for yourself the quality, finish etc. better.

Suggestion; don't try it.
The XPS 420 is built on a proprietary BTX platform, just flipping the motherboard over won't make it fit in an ATX case.

If you could please clarify:

Is the motherboard just a BTX board (that follows all BTX specs), or a BTX board that Dell has made with totally different mounting hole positions and/or expansion slot positions (different than that of the original BTX specs?)?

-Thanks :-)

If you look at the diagram, the lower mounting holes line up with those in my Aerocool case, but the board is about an inch to tall to fit. Don't know about the slots, didn't take the time to measure after realizing the board was to big.

the XPS 420 using a special Dell BTX design. It will not fit in the majority of ATX cases.
