Hi, I'll be returning my old OCZ Platinum PC2-6400s due to a bunch of problems, can someone recommend me a replacement or even tell me if I should get the same memory again? My motherboard is a gigabyte EP35-DS3R.
first of all,,check your mobo's q v list,to find out what it is known to support,i do not see how you could possibly have had problems with the ocz 6400,,unless it was not supported,,,OCZ,, 2N1066SR2GK/D2 @1g,,is the recommended ram for that mobo according to the QVL...:> )
Yeah I took note of that when I bought my OCZ2 P800R22GK, I assumed it would be fine in factory settings. I guess I might return them for the officially approved OCZ2 G800R22GK.
http://canadacomputers.com/index.p [...] M.346.307. I have been running 8GB of this on my EP35-DS3R for the last several months with absolutely no problems, my Q6600 is running at 3.2GHz stable as a rock, everything at default voltages except the DDR voltage, which I have set to 1.9V for better stability with 4 dimms.
