Will this PSU (see link) support an nVidia 7900 GTX? I know I will need an adapter for the power cord required by the card, but I'm not sure if this PSU is considered compatible:

Currently I'm using a 7600GT on this PSU and it's been working fine for a couple years, but I just got the 7900GTX and I learned a little more about it's requirements when searching for a plug adapter for it.

Thanks for any tips.

well probably not. it has vary low amps on the 12v and it does not have great reviews. its definaly cheap and i dont know what the 7900gtx is rated at power wise but i dont think it will work.

I too say it's not a good match and may not work. Personally I'd stay away from the combo.

The 7900GTX isn't too power hungry a card compared to the X1900 series or G80, but it consumes a lot more power than a 7900GT, which consumes more than a 7600GT. It consumes about the same as an 8800GT and HD3870, and 19 amps is far below recommended for those cards. If the power supply has aged, it may not be putting out 19 amps either. Then there is the quality issue mentioned above.

7900GTX 84 watts
7900GT 48 watts
7600GT 36 watts
