I know I will get laughed at but I have a question. Will this game run on
anything less than a 56k connection? I won't even say what my connection is
but some other games than are 3d will run..What is the lowest it will work
on?

That I couldn't tell ya....I know that the system requirements state a 56k
modem as the minimum, but I'm sure you could probably run it at slightly
slower speeds, but you would probably have an extremely long initial load
time and would probably have to get rid of every last bit of the eye candy
to give the game less to be required to communicate about with the
servers....however, I'm sure that it would run, just not very well and you,
ofcourse, would get lagged to death in lag spots like theed and coronet
where it's the most populated....good luck and let us know how it turns
out..ttyl...

Actually the eye candy is mostly driven by the client side so as long as the
computer is up to game standards it shouldn't effect the graphics. Now the
fact that you have a slow connection may make things look really strange.
You may see people appear and then suddenly disappear as well as other
graphics oddities. :)

The server lag can be bad at times and couple that with some self-induced
connection lag and you've got some real issues. I do know people that play
on dial-up but I suspect that it's 50K+

Cheers

Actually, the final output detail of the "eye candy" is client-driven, yes,
but if you get rid of the options in your settings to where the client
doesn't even request the data for certain graphical details, then this will
also decrease the lag....detail = client-driven....actual graphics
code/details = server side

You can turn off showing object names for some classes of objects. That
will reduce the lag. Although it's inconvenient at times. You definitely
don't need to see the name of each NPC...
