Hello everyone! I just joined today, sorry if i am starting a thread that is already up.

I have a bfg gefoce 8800 gt oc, and i want to overclock it. I downloaded nTune because it looked the least scary lol. I am new to overclocking anything, and i only want to overclock my 3d card. The card stock is 625Mhz core clock 900Mhz for the ram. on nTune i got it to 756Mhz core clock and 1160mhz for the ram. nTune said that the gpu test passes and i did the stabilty test through the nvidia control pannel for ten min, and it passed.

My question is that am i screwing up anything? / Is nTune an ok OC program? / Dont really want to try flashing the Bios, do i really need to?
For cooling on the VGA i have a zulman VF1000, and at idle the card sits at 48C with load i havent seen it go over 53-55C. HELP Thanks!!!!!

ntune is fine. you need to play a graphic intensive game to test for stability... look for artifacting, odd colors, anything that doesnt appear normal. if you get any of that you need to lower your clocks.

Some 8800GT's have problems on OC'ing their memory, mine will OC its core and shader clock but if I touch the memory it screams in frustration at my attempts at milking its power.

So watch out for that :D
