Barbs vs. Compression fittings

So I'm in the middle of my research for my first water loop. As I understand it you have the cooling block, then either a barb or compression fitting which you use to attach to the tube. So I'm wondering which one is better? Are there advantages to one vs. the other?

Just in case it matters I plan on liquid cooling everything on the mobo for mostly looks and bragging rights. CPU, GPU, Northbridge, Southbridge, and PCI-e and Mobo voltage regulator.

No actual advantage. Compression fitting look nicer and cost more than double a barb. Thats it'

Since I had a compression fitting leak I'd have to say to go the barb and hose clamp route.

I like barbs. You can get shiny barbs if you like bling. Check into the fatboys...they offer the best flow for barbs IMO.
