So what kind of RAID controller? Using software RAID, onboard RAID, hardware RAID?
Your question sounds like "can i have two cars". The question itself is valid though, as with onboard RAID you can't always use 'bare' disks without RAID. Sometimes you can though, it depends on the motherboard/ RAID controller.

I am using an Asus P7P55D EVO P55. I guess it's hardware RAID because I can choose RAID on the bios but I left it as IDE when I installed the OS because I didn't know. Help more please
After enabling raid in your bios, restart the computer and "hit" ctrl+i to enter the raid configuration utility. Create your raid.
It will give you array 1tb+ in raid 0 configuration.
Boot with your OS media and create small partition for the OS and the rest 4 data.
p.s if it is important data raid 0 in not recommended
Thanks I got it. Reinstalled my OS and did what you say.. I should have read the mobo manual earlier because it was right in there. but thanks a lot. I just installed RAID 0 on my 2 640gb harddrives while keeping the 1tb unplugged and just plugged it in after I rebooted from finishing. Good stuff!
