Dell 1525 Will Not Boot Pass Dell Logo

Hello,
I have a Dell 1525 laptop. It will not boot pass the log screen. I tried using an external monitor and I get black screen with the white cursor (same as laptop screen). I have tried using last know good configuration and it started to boot but went black again. I cannot boot from the safe mode either. I also tried to boot from the cd and do a repair but that option says there is nothing wrong. What else can I try?

The blinking cursor at boot means that the system can't find the boot sector of the hard-drive. Go into the BIOS and make sure the hard-drive is the first device in the boot order.
