Hi all,
I'm having trouble connecting via BT to a nokia 6230.

I've used the phone link updater, but there seems to be no specific
driver for the N6230. I've tried the N6210 and N6250 but the don't seem
to work.

I've previously had it working with a N6310i with BT and a N6110 via IR.

Any help or pointers appreciated.

Ben.

For my Nokia 3650, I had to take the raw Nokia3600 .prc file and edit it
with a hex editor to put the right values in there. Palm, in their
infinite wisdom, were doing _string matching_ on the connecting device
model, instead of relying on capabilities of the device itself.

You might have to do the same, or use a custom IrDA profile.

Guys,

Pass on your feelings to Palm.

Maybe they'll get their act together, and realize there ARE MANY frusutrated
customers WITH INTEREST in connecting the two units (Palm and Nokia). Maybe
they'll get off their _____ and sort out the drivers, via PhoneLinkUpdate.

Wakey Wakey Palm!!

I've spent the day trying to get it to work, there are a few people
who've managed to get to work (GPRS/PALM) using either the standard gsm
or n6310i driver. I can't get either to work.

I've rung nokia here in australia to be told by an ever so polite indian
voice (I've no idea if they've outsourced there support line or not)
that basicly told me they can't help me. This is not satifactory.

I like nokia's. I've had them since the nokia 101 analogue. I've had
nearly 10 different nokia's. But now, with these issues and lack of
support, the sony erricson's look appealing, the sharp gx15 or gx30 or
the soon to be released siemens s65.

The support from palm is equally woeful.

What is the problem? is it that nokia is starting to produce products
that 'intrude' on the pda market, and palm producing products that
intrude on the phone market. Is there an EGO somewhere that needs FIRING??

With the resources that both companies have, it can't be that hard to
make a driver so that they can both have happy customers.

I'll make the two companies a deal. The one that provides a driver that
works will have my business for life. The other company will no longer
have my loyalty.

And so they know I'm serious, my email address is 'ben' at the domain
name of hamilton.id.au

Hi

I am also having problems connecting a 6230 to my palm (Zire 72) for
dialling but gprs works fine. Just something for those having problems
with a gprs connection via bluetooth with 6310i or standard gsm driver,
turn the gprs option on the nokia from "always on" to "connect when
needed". Worked for me - strange but true.......

Wake up Palm.....

regards

Karl
