I've used G.skill before, but my last few memory purchases have been Mushkin. Personally, I will never buy RAM that will not work reliably at BIOS default values, which will be the JEDEC standard (1.8v for DDR2), whether or not I plan to bump it for an overclock. If that G.skill meets that criterion, then I'd say it is probably a safe buy.

almost no ram is listed as running at 1.8v. not with the timings they specify anyway? do companies like OCZ and Corsair just put up the voltage so they can market their RAM as having timings like 4-4-4-12 instead of JEDEC 5-5-5-15?
