I have a nvidia 6600gt card. Is it a good idea to buy a
37" hdtv and use it as my computer monitor 1080p resolutions.
Anyone already doing it on Sharp/...?

Any comments?

Thanks,

You need to go direct to the horse's mouth. Go to www.aquos.com . download
the user's manual for the set, and print out the section on using a PC. In
general, you will want to set the PC video card resolution to 1280 x 768,
1024 x 768, or something close to these.

Some owners are doing that with their Sharp 45" 1080p LCDs.
Some new owners of the 37" 1080p Sceptre are also doing this. There's a long
thread about it on AVS forum.

It supposedly looks _fantastic_, but I wouldn't be surprised.
I've been hooked up this way for a few years with some older Samsung 240t
(24" 1200p LCD),
on which I'm typing right now. Even a Radeon 7500 works like a charm. :-)

One expected issue you may have is that you will need to uncheck "hide modes
this monitor cannot display" in the video card menus.
