bought an HP D5000t couple weeks ago and it has a psu of 460 Watts Max Output, 12Va 16, 12Vb 15, 12Vc 8 something like that. It also says 12Va 12Vb 12Vc cannot exceed 365 or 380 Watts. i was wondering if it can run the ati 4850 without having any problem or bottlenecking.

My specs are
Q9300
3gb Memory
and basic stuff

You should be able to run it without too much trouble, that is, unless you have a turbine in your computer, or 12 hard drives.

The minimum recommendation is 32A (384W). Your PSU is cutting it VERY close. It should work if the rest of the system is minimal.

Well, a PSU close to max load is less efficient, so you'll get more heat in the case, which will lower the lifetime of the various parts. It's not a major issue, if your case has good cooling.

I think it should work just fine, those manufacturers recommendations are very careful and played safe to avoid any legal problems or something so I'd bet the actual energy usage of a 'normal' system wouldn't be anywhere near the quoted 32A...

load 203 watts for whole system, with 3GHz quad...
