HP ACU not finding onboard SA

here is my server:

Proliant DL380 G1
2x 1.0GHz Intel Xeon
4GB SDR 133 ECC
Server 2003
Intergrated Smart Array:
4x 36GB 10k SCSI Raid 5
SA 5304/256 - MSA30
14x 36GB 10K SCSI RAID 6
SA 6402/128 - MSA20
4x 1.5TB SATA Raid 6



after updating HP's Array Configuration Utility to 8.28.13.0 it no longer see's my integrated Smart Array. i would just switch my OS disks to the 5304 but every time ive tried that i cant boot the os...

i talked to some people at work, they think the new ACU doesn't support the older SA... but they also think it should have been smart enough not to upgrade because of the lack of support..... or maby i did something wrong when i installed it, but now i cant go back becasue i get an error on the 5304 and 6402 that they've been configured with a newer ACU....
