What is one way to format a 500 GB hard drive to store large mechanical drawings for a company This a single user computer

I'll give this a shot - someone correct me if I'm wrong.

It depends on what kind of computer will be accessing it. If it is a Windows machine - NTFS is the file system that Windows likes best.

If you will be using OSX or a unix based OS, then FAT32.

Basically these are the two main types of formatting. Were you asking how to format? OR just the type of formatting?

Is this a new drive or one that was previously used?
