hi all, im new here, so b nice :)

im making a new build, with a Q6600, DDR3 ram @ 1600MHZ, and a nVidia 9800GT

i need a mobo for these but dont know what to et...i dont kno what chipset to go for, theres so many, in my day there were just 1 or 2, and no1 cared which they had!

so to finalise, i need a motherboard that will happily take 1600mhz ddr3 ram, and i would prefere 1 that supports sli for future upgrade, bt i'm bnot as bothered about that?

what main chipsets can i chose from, and wat are the differences?

thanx in advance

For gaming, money would be better spent on a better GPU than DDR3 and a SLI chipset.

Than being said, there is only one chipset that will meet your requirements: 790i Ultra.

if not having SLI is ok with you, then an X48 chipset board should suit your needs.

IMO, DDR3 isn't worth it. Stay with 800 or 1066mhz, low latency DDR2. If you are sure on DDR3, though, as others have said, a 790i or x48 chipset would suit you well.
