Okay, my thumb drive was okay earlier, but now it will not even say it is connected to the computer. It sounds like the hardware in side may have come loose. How can I fix this?

Is there any important data on it? Honestly, unless you're using some special super-expensive thumb drive you've paid loads of money for, just give it up and buy a replacement. Just to be safe though: have you tried it on other computers?

Try it on one of the back panel USB ports. Sometimes front panel wiring has problems.

Otherwise, at the very least, you will need SMT soldering equipment and some really specialized training and experience. And even then then, you probably won't be able to get parts for the thing.

This is one of those things that just isn't worth doing. Buy a new one.

And welcome to the forums.
