I dont use microsoft office; how can i eliminate notices to update

I use OpenOffice and therefore do not have MS Office installed. Everytime I get a notice of updates available, I have to go and uncheck the office updates; next time, there they are again. How can I "clear the record" and only get notified of new updates?

Just install them, they won't show up again. There should be an option in there not to be notified of updates, but I don't remember exactly where that option is.
