Hi,
I have overclocked my Q6600 G0 to 3GHz (333x9) and the voltage going to the cpu is 1.35. This sounds a bit high because i have checked out some other threads and they say thay have it running below 1.25. However, if i drop it even one step belo 1.35 after 5 seconds of Prime95 i will get BSOD. Does anyone else have a similar voltage setup to me? Thanks.

I can reach 3.0 GHz at stock voltage (VID = 1.2625 volts), 3.3 GHz. @ 1.32 volts, and 3.6 GHz. @ 1.42 volts.But that's in an Antec 900 case with a TRUE heatsink.

Someone here did a thread last year titled something like "Q6600 - what's your VID?". It turns out that mine is about average. You could be unlucky and have a chip with a substantially higher VID. This would reduce your OC headroom and yield a poorly overclocking CPU.

Thanks for the reply, however i have a Antec 900 with a zalman 9700. I have seen bad things about the zalman but i get better temps than any of the reviews i have see on it. must be a crap chip :)
