$175 for athlon is a horrible deal. You can get a far better performing q6600 (2.4ghz stock, reliably oc to 3.6ghz) for $199.99:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819115018

P45 motherboard, highest overclocking performance of all chipsets (tie with x38/48) for $99.99:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813130181

$175 is far too much for that case, there are better airflow cases for less. Save the money on internal components that add to performance. $160 for 650 watt psu is high, there are 850watt psus available for around $120, or get 550watt units, which is enough, for less than $100. 2gb of ram isn't enough, get 4. Crysis hogs 2+gb alone, Vista use 1+gb, and most other new games use at least 1+gb. Spend $30-40 on a high performance cpu cooler. Save rest for graphics card. :p

Did you even look at the $99.99 motherboard I linked? It use PCIE2.0, just no crossfire, so you can only use one graphics card.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813130181

Edit: Ah, I see newegg doesn't list PCIE2.0 there. Nevertheless, p45 boards use it. You can see it here on another retail that does list PCIE2.0 as part of its specs :p

The Antec 900 is a nice case, though you have to be careful with your cabling (it can get a little tight in there).

You can find the 900 for well under $100 - something like 80 or 90.

Here's the link: http://www.mwave.com/mwave/skusear [...] ia=ba23813

Good luck on the build.

The power supply is not a good place to try to save money. look at Tom's PSU charts and find a Tier 1 unit in the 750 to 860 range should be Ok for a crossfire set-up.

1.2K is perfect. Here's my 1K build: http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/ [...] er=8291612 Add another HD4850 and you have a sweet crossfire system. You might downgrade the ram if you wanna save some money.

NOOO! That PSU is not good for the money! It's not always about watts.

@OP: Get a PP&C 750 or a Corsair 750TX.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817703009
PP&C 750 $130 after MIR

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817139006
Corsair 750TX $100 after MIR

What!?!?! Are you calling the Antec 900 bad?? I agree $175 is too much, but the Antec 900 can be had for $120 (even cheaper at some other places) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] ntec%2b900

Imo, the Antec 900 is one of THE best cases ever made. That's why people are still buying it.

@OP: Do you plan on OCing? If so get a XIGMATEK S1283. Also if looking for quiet case fans look in to Yate Loon or Scyth.

For motherboard I recommend:

P45-DS3R ($135)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813128344

Since OP is also getting a 4870 he might want to consider this deal too:
