On am3 motherboards it often says under memory support 1600(OC). Does using ddr3 1600 and setting it to 1600 void any warranty and if so of which component exactly ?

Oh... I thought that originally, but then I did some looking and now i think its supported, but you have to OC to reach that potential. Otherwise 1600RAM will only be used a 1333 without OC or something like that.

I think that it means that the motherboard doesn't officially support ddr3 1600 ram, but it can run ram at that speed with overclocking. Even if you use ddr3 1600 ram, it will only run 1333mhz, unless you overclock. However, since it explicitly says 1600(OC), you should be covered by the warranty.
