I am a little concerned with how hot the north and south-bridge chips/heatsinks get on my new Gigabyte board. This one:

GA-EP45-DS3R - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

When running games, the NB heatsink is almost too hot to touch for more than a few seconds. I plan on keeping this board for quite a while (got 5 out of my last one!) and I cannot imagine all that heat is good for things.

Is it OK for things to be really hot, or should I consider doing something to lower the temps?

Thanks!

some advice.. check how long your motherboard is warrantied for.. find a small fan to sit on the stock northbridge heatsink until your warrinty expires.. then if u still care for that same motherboard, just replace it with a hr-05. cause usually removing the stock cooling voids warrienty. and i will also forewarn you many stock northbridge cooling (you know the pushpins with the spring) pretty much suck, i've burnt out a northbridge on a 680i because the damn springs lost tension after a while and therefore there was weak contact between the chip an heatsink.
