I'm not sure, but I'm gonna say that with 96 shaders its supposed to be better than 64. Even though the memory frame buffer is smaller. So, yes. I think 8800gts 320 is faster than 9600gt. Than again, i just dont like 9x00 series.

I would go for the 9600gt. I can't really find the gts 320 on sale anywhere. And is there a reason why you're choosing MSI and Albatron as the manufacturer?

Coz they r xtremely cheap in Malaysia. If i were to buy zotac or asus it will cost me alot more. N the msi 8800gts is selling half the original price in malaysia

If I remember correctly the 8800GTS 320 isn't a very good card, the newer 8800 GTS (g92) is different and a nice card.

But in answer to your question the 9600 GT would smack around the 8800 GTS 320, and is the choice for you.

Have fun!

actually the 4850 is better lol, the only card that competes would be the 9800 GTX+ in the category. And you can find it for only 30$-40$ more.

Plus there are alot of benefits witht he 4850, which is DX 10.1, CrossX (which scales better than SLI), and it clocks way higher.

Thats only in Unreal 3, look at the rest, it gets a good lead as resolutions get higher.

Also the cards out performs in games with AA on, thats where it really shines:) Plus if DX 10.1 is a 20% increase in fps with AA enabled, its should be interesting.

EDIT: A game that supports DX10.1 could come out over night, (patches etc) remember assassin's creed?

Either way, in the long run CrossX seems to be at an advantage. (assuming you have the board that support it).

Performance in other games aren't much different, except Quake4, where it beats 280gtx on highest resolutions and aa settings. It's an old quirky game though.

Games aren't going to run on DX10.1, developers will just use dx10 until they can skip ahead to dx11. Most still run on dx9. :p
