I recently have been looking to build a new system, and came across a very good deal on a PSU, and with nVIDIA releasing a better, less expensive version of the 9800 gtx, it made me want it even more. So, I was wondering if the power supply I'm about to link will have enough power on the 12V rails to power the card and have room for possible expansion.

P.S Thanks in advance for the reply, also it would be helpful if you could enlighten me on how you determined whether the PSU was suitable for the Card. Thanks.

I have the 9800gtx and am running a Corsair 650w...works just fine, and I have my GPU and CPU overclocked due to watercooling. So, with that setup, its a decent load and does well. That PSU will work fine; I have that same exact card. It runs really well, but the 260GTX isn't a whole lot more...if you wanted to splurge.

Edit: I have the GTX, not the GTX+. From what I have read, it is a BIOS flash to run faster clocks. Other than that, it is the same card.

Rubix _1011 just to correct you , the 9800GTX+ is not just a bios flash for it to run faster , its a die shrink to 55nm and thats what allows the higher clock speeds and the card can be overclocked even more !!

I thought it was only a 65nm chip at this point...all I know is I ordered my 9800gtx and 2 weeks later, they dropped prices and introduced the '+'. At least Newegg gave me a decent coupon in exchange...only $38 to step up to a 260GTX...

I have a similar question, my post is at:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/256270-33-upgrading-m8307c

My MB doesn't support sli, and I don't expect to add much else to the system. So I'm thinking a 550w - 600w psu is more than enough. Nvidia recommends a 450w psu atleast for a 9800 gtx. Can't be much different for a gtx+, right? I need some intelligent feedback, please! Check out hte link to see the detail. I should have named the topic better.
