Installed new hard drive ... no boot data

I installed windows 7 on one of my two non-raid sata hard drives with vista on the other drive. Both worked fine. Transferred data from vista drive to windows 7 drive. Removed vista drive, now windows 7 won't boot. I get a no boot data error. Anyone know what I did wrong?

  1. Put the Vista hard disk back in and follow these instructions:

Switching my Windows 7 Boot Disk from D to C with BCDBoot rather than BCDEdit

  2. Your boot partition is on the Vista drive, while your system partition is the Windows 7 drive. Microsoft does that, as well as other operating systems.
