I got a M2N32 SLI Deluxe Mobo Windows XP Pro (32bit) I got 650$ to spend on Vid Card(s)....I'm leaning towards an EVGA 280 GTX....

This mobo only has PCI-E slots (2 x 16x).....

Is this a waste of money or my best bet for NOT having to upgrade Vid Card(s) in the future? I'm trying to decide between 2x 8800 GTS's (512mb) or 1x 280 GTX?

WOW - that's a lot of $ to spend on the GPU(s).

Since you are locked in to nVidia, I guess the you don't have a ton of choices. The GTX 280s are scheduled to get a big price drop (since ATI cards are way cheaper and have similar performance).

I have an 8800 GTS and love it. The 9800 GTX is the same card with a slight overclcock.

I would wait a little longer (sometime in July) to find out about the 9800 GTX+ - new release with a smaller die and Physx included, I believe.

I personally wouldn't spend it all on the one massive card that is not performing that well.

I'd get one high performing card - 8800 GTS/9800 GTX or 9800 GTX+ and upgrade again in the near future or go SLI if you find a really good deal.

The GTX 280 seems like a terrible performance for the money purchase. (this is why the 4850 and 4870 have gotten so much press)
