The current drivers that are up on nividia's web site i installed them and now im getting 3x frame rate on my evga gtx 280 esp in age of conan and a few other games.

I would really like to see more benchmarks using the new drivers it blows away ati top card.

I'll download them and let you know if there is a performance increase or not; I have SLI gtx200 series cards.

Well, yea I already had the 177.41 drivers; so meh whatever, lol

I heard there was a little performance increase in the 177.35->177.40 generation but I was never told it was drastic.

Kl, thanks ovaltineplease. There may well be an increase and I'm interested in how much but I'm sure it won't be 3x the performance. If it is then AMD may as well pack their bags now ;).

Oh right, so the Op was bullshitting. As I thought! So I guess I'm still gonna get a 4870 then...

Well, with Age of Conan anything is possible.

Just deleting the shader cache from the game directory from time to time can give up to 10 times performance. Not impressed.

I didnt know that, I will do that when i get home.

Sometimes it runs well, and sometimes like poop. they really gotta fix this. I know they are trying.. but the fact that it wont run great in CF really erks me.

Yeah umm already 250/300+ fps on counter-strike: source and you're expecting 900/750+? ROFL

No he's right, it does increase fps performance, but not 3x. No it can't compete with the 4870x2, but it WILL be cheaper. I'm looking forward to the 280gx2 or 290/300 series

So where can I get your crystal ball, cause I don't recall hearing anything about Nvidia launching a 290, 300, or 280gx2 aside from a brief mention of 290 in Nvidia's display driver .inf file.
