Hello,

When would graphic card price go down again. The lowest price i see for 4850 is 145, but it is around 157 to 200. I need a graphic card for my new monitor. I am expecting prices to go down. i have no idea when. Share with me if you know.

Thanks.

Echo what dirtmountain said, etailers like Newegg have had great deals on a host of video cards in recent weeks, especially the 8 and 9 Nvidia series cards. Rebates and price drops galore in recent times. The Radeon 4850 is priced to be a top seller as it is when compared with it's equals performancewise.

this is a CPU section.........u posted in the wrong section.

anyway, don think prices of 4850 will go down anytime soon. new cards like 4870x2 and nvidia big bang (which i think is a 55nm gtx 280 with ddr5) are all in extreme upper class. so dont think they will have any ripple on prices of 4850

I know it is cpu section. i posted it anyway as i usually got a quicker response. If you have a problem , do not answer it.

I would expect to see the prices go down as soon as nVidia drops theirs again. Right now the 4850 is the best bang for buck card out there so its price is very good considering a equivalent a year ago was in the near $300 range.

dude

its hard to predict how low it will go and i will say this "prices only go down with pc parts"

but..... gpu's have gone way down with the ati nvidia war

the 280 should sell for $700-800 based on the 8800gtx

ati's new 4870x2 has put the heat on nvidia and nvidia is moving product, i would say when the 4870x2 comes out if its well received prices will drop - if not they will stabilize for a long time
