I was wondering if it would be possible to mod a Masscool 8WA741 socket 775 heatsink to fit a AM2 socket. I got the heatsink free with a CPU purchase and a friend is looking to upgrade his heatsink from stock but he has a AM2 socket and Masscool's site doesn't note an option for a different mounting kit for this heatsink. Any suggestions?

I've tried googling for 775 to AM2 heatsink adapters, but came up with nothing. I'm sure it's possible, so long as you make sure the assembly locks with the CPU mount and conducts heat from the processor at max capacity.

Just make sure you watch your temps when testing out a successfully modded heatsink!
