hd2900xt question

Can an antec 500w earthwatts run an hd2900xt with an athlon 4200, 74 gb raptor and a dvd burner plus some fans on a a8r-mvp??? 17amps on both rails?

no... it can't... its not enough.. anyway... although the 2000 series from amd isn't bad.. its not good either... so unless you already have one... get a 4850 or something

I meant 17amps on EACH rail. Already have it, selling it to a friend of mine, just wanted to know if his system could handle it.

it will run fine considering i have the same psu running my oc q6600 and 2 gtx 260 oc.

Think it would still work if I upgraded his mb and threw in 2 gigs of xms and a wolfdale 7200 with a little OC added in?

yes it will work perfectly fine. im running almost double those specs on my system and it runs fine so i wouldnt see any reason not to run.
