Memory is reported in DDR(double data date or x 2) so 972 x 2 is 1944

8800GTS 512's are 650mhz for stock speeds.

everything is fine.

Thank you sir i was sure it was something as simple as that. just wanted to be assured. i thought i would have noticed half ram anyways.

Is there a good resource where i can find where others have safely overclocked there g92 core to?

I right now am overclocked to 720 from 650 core and 1052 from 972 memory.

Every card is different. just test it good with ati tool's artifact scanner.

for real? strange. its it allot of dots? The dots show up long before any game will error so it may or may not be safe to go on. I personally would not, but its your call. I think Evga has a lifetime warranty on cards(as long as they do not know you had been overclocking)

I have run hours of it on my 8800GTX without any errors.

I guess your method will be small increase, games or 3d marks and repeat. Still every card is different for its max.

Did it make artifacts only after pushing 700? then they stayed? maybe something was damaged?

or was it always like that.
