How do I change the author name to mine on my laptop
Last response: in Windows XP
I have taken over a laptop from a former employee. Every document I create has her name as the author and not mine. I have changed the computer name to mine but this did not do the trick. I am hardware stupid so I am at a loss here. Please help with instructions as if you are teaching a 2nd grader.
I do not want to have to go back into each and every document to change the author name.

Stop using her logon. Make your own user account or rename her account to your name.
Start/Settings/Control Panel/User Accounts/
Click on her account, choose "Change my name"
In Windows Explorer, (Documents and Settings), the name will not be changed, but just about everything else will now be branded with your name.
