Need some advice, my friend currently has a ebit SG-95 mobo, which is causing headaches because it doesnt allow overclocking.
His system is pretty basic, he has a Intel D 805, 2 gb of ram, and an 8800GT.
The issue is he is only getting about 20-30fps in Age of Conan, when all his settings are on lowest, and he is using a resolution < 1680 by 1050.
I hoping its just a CPU bottleneck, which will be solved when we can overclock the thing. Firstly could you confirm my suspicions, secondly could you recommend a mobo, thats not only mini-atx, overclockable, has a PCI-e port, but as cheap as possible? I know nothing about this area of the market!
if your interested in upgradeability, get an AM2+ with PCIe 2.0. a good one can be had for about $75
if its just cheap cheap cheap, any OC able am2 board will do.
I've seen Abit NF-M2 nViews on ebay very cheap, and its been known to hit very high FSBs.
as I haven't been in that market for years, I cant realy tell you anything more
If you want to stick with Intel, I hear Asus makes a good micro based on the g33 chipset.
G45 based boards should be hitting the market about now too.
