No movie sound

hi all can someone give me advice ive got a hp compaq nx9010 business laptop windows xp pro and ive downloaded a kids movie for my daughter and she can watch and listen to it on the pc but when i copy it onto my dvd rewriter the picture stays but there is no sound

So there is no sound when playing the movie from the NX9010 laptop or from a DVD writer? I got alittle confused because at the end, you said you "copy it onto my DVD rewriter". Perhaps you mean you copied it to your DVD rewriter to put it on your laptop or did you mean so it can be played on a DVD player?
