Is my prossessor bottlenecking my video card?

Hi everyone,

My system specs are.

X1950pro IceQ3 Turbo Edition
asus mother board
amd 2800+
600w cooler master psu
sound blaster live sound card

I can run crysis demo at medium settings at 1024-768 but it gets pretty lagy at times. so does anyone have the same graphics card or something that you can tell me how much you get? or if you think that my possessor is bottlenecking my video card?

an AMD Athlon 2800+ is seriously bottlenecked by the X1950PRO. Even my 7900GS was bottlenecked by my AMD 3500+

Crysis is heavy on physics. Turning off destructable environment may help with cpu load.

rats, I was thinking it was because people were saying that they could run at medium without a problem,the only other problem is I only have a socket A(462) motherboard so my possessors are limited I think. ho ya did I forget to say that my video card is agp, sorry(but that might have allready been assumed)

ya, I noticed that whenever I turned the destructible environment on it got really lagy especially when I blew up a building(or ran though it with a truck

Does anyone have any idea how much a good possessor that would work for my pc is, and were?

AMD 2800+ is definitely the bottleneck but would not be too serious. We could be more helpful if you can post us mobo info.

sorry, I wasn't quite sure what my motherboard was so thats why I didn't tell you guys. I think it a A7N8X Deluxe motherboard(but I am still not a 100% sure, it might be a A7N8X-E deluxe is there any difference betwen them?) anyways one of those are my motherboard. hops that helps.

yes. So, that's a socket A board, meaning you have virtually no possible upgrades, unfortunately. Since it uses DDR-400, and an AGP card... unfortunately you really won't be able to use any of your old parts. If you would like to upgrade, please post your budget, and we can help you set up a RAM/Mobo/CPU/GFX combo.

Well this computer I have I got as a hand me down from my brother. I got it recently so I think I will wait until I get a completely new computer sometime down the road. thanks doomsdaydave11 for all your help.
