I currently have an Abit IN9 32X mobo that I used to love. The board worked flawlessly until I installed a second hard drive in the system. Since then the board will only boot/post with the default BIOS settings loaded and after 4 months of fighting with it I want it gone. After building 9 systems all on Abit boards Abit has now lost this customer forever. I attempted to do a cross-ship RMA and they denied me because they have none of my mobos in stock in the RMA department. They want me to send my mobo in to them (will be about two weeks) to fix it instead. Problem is, I own and operate a small business from my PC and can not afford to close the doors of my business for two weeks.

The saga of my attempts to get my system back to the way it was before the second hard drive was installed (and since removed) is here http://forum.uabit.com/showthread.php?t=140740.

So I need a replacement for my board and I don't want to completely have to reinstall windows xp pro if at all possible. I need a board with similar specs to the IN9 32X so windows won't have a major freak when I put the new mobi in. I have heard if you get a board with the same chipset that windows won't need a reinstall, truth? I don't know so I'm asking you folks.

I'm thinking of getting an MSI P6N Diamond board (see here http://www.provantage.com/msi-p6n-diamond~7MSTB02Y.htm) but have found conflicting information on the chipsets. The MSI website says the southbridge is nforce 430, but everyplace else lists it as a nforce 590? Help, and thank you.
