Hey everyone! I'm looking to build a hardware RAID 1 that is hot-swappable on the fly through Windows XP/Server 2003. I'd like to swap hard drives while the server is still online.

I've tried the Windows 2003 Software RAID1 Mirroring option and it's exactly what I'm looking for, but I'd like it to be hardware driven (through a card).

What can you guys recommend? I plan on using two pairs of 1TB drives (4 in total, 2 partitions).

Thanks!

Can i ask why you want a hardware solution for a simple mirror? You'll only be increasing the chance of failures, because you rely on a single piece of hardware; whereas with the software solution its totally hardware independent.

Also why a RAID1 and not a backup, do you have a backup aside from the mirror? You know the difference between RAID and a backup?
