Help with video cards...

hey,
i have an inspiron 530, the normal one, not the slim or whatever, and i was wondering which graphic cards will fit in there... I was looking at a 8800gt, but i am not sure whether it will fit or not, please help me.

Please either list good graphic cards under 200$, or tell me wether an 8800gt will fit into my case. Or both .

A standard 8800gt with reference board is around 3 inches longer than the end of the pcie slot. Also make sure there is nothing (jumpers, connectors, capacitors, heatsinks) that's higher than the highest point of pcie slot that also lines up with it.

8800gt will fit in a mid case, the motherboard however, most should be ok but as stated by dagger check for obstructions

nine inches.. allow 9.5 to be sure you have room for the power connection to the video card... also be sure your power supply has at least 24A on the 12v rails (at LEAST 24... BFGtech recomoends having 28A for that card).

Also, if you're worried about length, try the Gigabyte card, which is shorter than reference boards: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125088
For the same price as the card listed above, you'd be much better off going with a 4850, though I don't know how long the 4850 is.

And make sure your PSU has sufficient wattage as mentioned by firetatoo.

a 4850 does sound good atm apparently 2of them in crossfire are extremely effcient.
