First of all here are my specs:
E8400@ 3.6GHZ
2GB ram 800 MHZ
8800 GTS 512 745 1085 1862 using 177.41 driver with modified inf.file for physx
Asus P5N-D
250 GB HDD
Vista home premium
I get some very VERY bad stutering in COH every 3 seconds when i move around.I'm playing the game maxed out .My rig is supposed to run it maxed out 1280x1024 with 4xaa?The stutering is not that noticeble in all the other games but IT'S STILL THERE.Sometimes it hang for about 3 seconds .
Could this be a driver problem? Or bad ram timings (default 5-6-6-18 at 800 mhz and i'm using 5-5-5-15 at 800 mhz)?Or maybe not enogh disk space I have only 20 GB left
CAN SOMEONE PLAESE HELP???
Is there a lot of hdd activity when it stutters? 2gb of ram is not enough for most new games, especially in Vista. Vista itself hogs 1+gb of ram at any given time. Most games use 1+gb, some, like Crysis and Supreme commander, ranks up 2+gb after a while of gameplay. Ram speed doesn't matter.
Before i started COH I looked at the memory usage and only 600 mb was used.I ended some proceses like aero glass.how about my ram timings ?
There is no way loose timings can cause stuttering. And if the ram is unstable at the tighter timings, it would usually just crash when hitting faults instead of making the game stutter.
I just played an hour of COH.There is no HDD activity during play. And when there is a lot of activity on the screnn the game lags very badly 18 FPS or less.
And I think i got a good enough power supply 600 Watts.Maybe it's the drivers. The 177.41 officialy support only the GT200 or the 9800 GTX not the 8800 GTS g92.
I'm obviously not 100% sure but disabling your PhysX on GPU should help.
OK I was kinda waiting for this. PhysX on the graphics card is a great idea. Specially for SLI but on a single card... If the is set to high and therefore wants 100% of the graphics card how much of the graphics card is left for PhysX?
The only reason PhysX on graphics does well during 3DMark is the fact that the graphics card is either being used for PhysX or graphics not both at the same time.
