help with a amd 3200+

hi i had in my pc a amd 2400+ but i changed the heat sink but forgot the thirmal past so brought a new processer and got the amd xp 3200+ socket 462 i put in my pc and it ih showing up as a amd 1900+ with only 1.47GHZ insted of the 2.2GHz can anyone help thanks

Hopefully your mobo supports the processor?

You may need to update the BIOS to a newer version to properly recognize the cpu if it is supported by the motherboard ....

^ look on the motherboards manufacture website for a newer bios update. Also look at the cpu support page on the site to make sure the 3200+ is supported.

if your having trouble finding this information give me your motherboard model and ill look up the information for yah. chances are if the system is booting it simply needs a bios update to fully support your processor.
