This is not causing any problems, I just don't know why.
I have an i7 on a Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5, gigabit Linksys switch, Norton 2008 firewall, Vista 32bit, and 3 PCs (Vista, Vista, XP) in a LAN. Vista doesn't seem to think a LAN/switch is a real network? I can see all of the other PCs, connect to the internet (DSL) thru a switch connected Linksys wireless router, share files, and printers; but it's bugging me. Any experts with an idea? Should I care?
Do you have more than one nic on your computer? If so disable the one that is not being used. This should stop the notifications.
I don't get this as an error message. I only get an information bar pop up when I look at my network places. The Vista Network sharing center gives me this screen.
It's just an aggravation, like I said, everything in the "non-network" works fine. I don't know why Vista doesn't consider a LAN a network. When I try to set up a network, the only option is a wireless network. I'm wondering if there is some Vista option I took in my new build.
