There was a time when I had an EVGA 680i mobo. It was a good time. I had my three ATI Radeon X1650's installed and running my six monitors beautifully. For reasons beyond my control, I had to switch to a BFG 680i board. Since I switched, only two of the X1650's are detected.

I am told the third PCI-Express x16 slot only supports x8 pathways; does that mean it doesn't have enough power to supply the card? Is there any other reason the third card is not detected? It's a known-good card.

No, x16 gpu in x8 will run at x8 and that's it. It'll show up. My guess is your board is designed for SLI. I'm aware that you're not crossfiring.

yea.. sounds like your trying to run crossfire on a sli motherboard?? probably wont work since both companies are arch rivals.

He is not trying to run CrossFire, he is trying to drive 6 monitors.

To the OP, it should work in X8 mode, it should work in X1 mode albiet very slow. Is there a setting in the BIOS of that board that enables/disables the 3rd slot, or reserves X16 for the second slot (which would in affect shut down the 3rd slot)?

none that I can see; but yes, I'm trying to drive six monitors.

Any idea what this option would be labeled?
